David Nakayama Enjoys Cereal, Ice Cream & Beautiful People
David Nakayama – who signs his work with a very distinctive “D.NA” – is a popular comic book cover artist who enjoys all things nerdy, such as cosplay & product homage covers, and attractive male & female characters. He has drawn a number of product homage covers, for example cereal box and magazine cosplay variants.
The Hawaii-born Nakayama lauunched his comic book career with his first published work in Star Wars Tales #17 (September 2003) for “The Apprentice” at Darkhorse Comics while a student of The Kubert School (formerly the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art). Nakayama soon received Wizard Magazine‘s “Be The Next Top Cow Superstar” contest circa 2004 and moved to Los Angeles, California, to intern for Marc Silvestri at Top Cow Productions. Nakayama has since worked for assorted comic book publishers on titles such as Marvel Adventures: Hulk, Marvel Adventures: Spider-Man, Daredevil, Venom, Spider-Gwen, X-Men, Ghost Rider, Black Panther, Poison Ivy, Red Sonja and Grimm Fairy Tales, to name only a few.
