Natali Sanders’ Comic Book Cover Gallery
A Gallery of Natali Sanders’ Best Comic Book Covers
Natali Sanders’ first professional comic publication was a variant cover for DC Comics’ Harley Quinn: 25th Anniversary Special #1 in November 2017, only five short years ago (as of this writing). Yet she has become a fan favorite comic variant artist, rendering characters – particularly female characters – in a clearly recognizable style that readers appreciate. Sanders’ variant cover for Harley Quinn: 25th Anniversary Special #1 is highly prized by collectors, comparatively speaking, when considered alongside industry heavyweights such as Jim Lee, Greg Horn & Lucio Parrillo, who also provided variants for Harley’s 25th birthday. Natali Sanders’ first professional variant cover appears to be inspired by Harley’s first appearance in comics, The Batman Adventures #12.
Some of Sanders recent variants are designed to look like women’s magazines and fashion magazines, à la Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Glamour and others. These variants are usually released as virgin and/or minimal dress variants as well, minus the magazine-style typesetting, so there may be two to three variants per title (as shown below).
To date (August 2022), Sanders has put her artistic talents to work almost exclusively for DC’s leading ladies, i.e. Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Punchline and Wonder Woman. (CONFIRM THIS.) Sanders, however, has no problem finding work in the industry. Her web site notes that publishers keep her so busy that she has limited time for commissions, so we look forward to seeing her work for other publishers as well.
We find Natali Sanders’ comic book work a pleasure to look at and collect. We hope you do too!
